Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father,  and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19 - 20

Missions

Saint Paul United Methodist Church was founded in 1960 as a missional church for the east side of Spartanburg.

Missional work is at our very heart. We have a number of outreach mission projects working throughout the year. These programs include The Bethlehem Center located in the Highlands community of Spartanburg. During the school year, we support BackPack Buddies programs at Drayton Mill Elementary School and McCracken Middle school, located on the east side of Spartanburg with donations and volunteers. We support through participation with other churches as well as a host church for Spartanburg Interfaith Hospitality Network - an organization that helps struggling families return to the community with a foundation of couseling, housing and employment placement. Our mission outreach is not only focused in our local community, but also nationally and internationally. Many of our youth and adults participate in the Salkehatchie Summer Services program during the summer months. This outreach ministry is devoted to rebuilding and restoring homes for those who can’t afford basic repairs while joining together in praise and worship to God for all the blessings that He has provided in our lives. Internationall, we work with groups in Haiti to help build schools, homes, churches and bring fresh drinking water to these areas. We are currently working on bringing together a group of our youth and adults on another international mission trip to Central America to help rebuild communities devastated by the recent hurricanes. From scouting programs, reading programs for our preschoolers, Gift Tree presents for homeless children during the Christmas season, Christmas In Action participation, we have a wide range of mission opportunities for you to join us.
